LIM projects in India
A great many Pastors in India are desperately praying hard for buildings where their churches can meet. They dream about a place where the church can meet together to pray, worship and study. The Build A Church Scheme (BACS) makes these dreams come true. For just £1,250 donors can build a church for 100-120 people.
There is massive stigma still attached to leprosy despite the fact that it is easily treated and cured in most cases. India is littered with leper colonies, like the ones at Nammukil and Dhamapuri, where whole communities are simply abandoned. We are committed to the vital work of bringing back health and hope to these villages.
All throughout India there are little pockets of people and communities that have been forgotten about. There are massive needs in these villages for housing, clean water and supplies. Our practical support to these disenfranchised people is making massive differences and having a huge impact.
Bethany Children’s Home is one of LIM’s oldest projects consisting of a boys orphanage on the same site as the Bible College and a girls orphanage at a nearby village. Many of the children are orphans or were rescued from a life on the streets. As a long established project we have seen great fruit from the boys and girls who are given hope and belief in themselves.
3 days after the tsunami LIM went to work mobilising our own 'Tsunami Disaster Relief Appeal'. Our first response was to provide immediate aid to the thousands left in desperate conditions. We are now implementing a long term plan to help rebuild houses and rehabilitate people back into their communities.
